Tasting Notes / Food Pairing & Cellaring

On the Nose: Lirac Blanc presents an elegant bouquet with floral notes of jasmine, verbena, and honeysuckle. These delicate aromas make the wine very inviting and aromatic.

On the Palate: On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and round, with a smooth texture that complements its aromatic profile. Citrus flavours emerge towards the finish, providing a refreshing sensation and enhancing the wine's overall crispness.

Pairing & Cellaring: This wine is ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood dishes, offering a lovely contrast to the flavours of the sea. It also complements more complex dishes such as asparagus risotto or crayfish. To appreciate its full potential, it is best served between 10°C and 12°C. The wine can be enjoyed fresh but may also benefit from a short aging period for additional complexity.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do the sandy, rolled pebbles influence the wine’s character?

The sandy, rolled pebbles found in the terroir provide excellent drainage, allowing the vines to develop deep roots that help them thrive even in dry conditions.

This results in grapes that are concentrated in flavour, contributing to aromatic and fresh wines with a clean, crisp character.

Why is low-temperature fermentation important?

Low-temperature fermentation helps to retain the delicate, fruity and floral aromas of the grapes, ensuring the wine maintains its fresh, vibrant character.

This method also prevents the loss of aromatic compounds, resulting in a more expressive and aromatic wine.

What is the benefit of fermenting separately?

Fermenting separately allows the winemaker to preserve and highlight the unique characteristics of each grape variety.

The separate fermentation ensures that the best qualities of both varieties are preserved and blended to create a balanced wine.
