Un Instant Sur Terre - AOC Alsace 2021
Wine Details & Winemaking
Type: Orange
Alcohol: 14.5%
Vintage: 2021
Size: 750ml
Closure: Glass
Varieties: 50% Pinot Gris, 40% Gewurztraminer, 10% Riesling
Structure: Full-bodied, round, and smooth
Terroir: Originating from Bennwihr's quaternary alluvial soils, the vines are 40 years old and cultivated biodynamically, contributing to the wine's complexity and mineral elegance.
Harvest: Hand-harvested with a low yield of 30 hl/ha to preserve concentrated flavours.
Vinification: The wine undergoes an 8-month maceration in amphorae made of clay and sandstone, each providing unique micro-oxygenation. Following maceration, it’s aged for 3 additional months in clay amphorae, creating a rounded texture. The wine is bottled unfiltered and without sulfur.
Aging: This amphora-aged wine reflects purity and smoothness from its 11-month aging process.
Tasting Notes / Food Pairing & Cellaring
On the Nose: Aromas are complex, with notes of rose, apricot, mirabelle plum, and raisin, inviting a deeply fragrant experience.
On the Palate: Silky and refreshing, the wine’s barely-there tannins lend balance. Its finish offers rose and rice wine nuances, adding intrigue and a hint of exoticism.
Pairing & Cellaring: Excellent with spicy dishes, beef tartare, or robust cheeses. Drink between 2022 and 2032 to appreciate its evolving depth and character.
